Singing Lessons

Lesson

Focus.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every singer has the potential to improve and succeed. By addressing and correcting improper techniques and habits, you help your students achieve greater control, clarity, and confidence in their singing.

Years of experience as not only a singing teacher but a singer myself, have helped me to develop my teaching style, often using myself as an example on what to do and not do when helping others find their voice. Through this, I have worked with countless students of varying ages and skill levels, allowing me to tailor my lessons to the individual persons specific needs.

It may be that you are looking to expand your range, better your breath control, have more power in sustaining notes for longer, or perhaps you just want to work on your repertoire for audition prep. Whatever your needs, I utilise the knowledge I've learnt from my own education, in order to take a patient and encouraging approach to the lesson. This helps to create a supportive learning environment where you as a student can thrive, and work on what you are looking to improve.

Exams

Examinations are discussed with each student on an individual basis and introduced when they feel ready to take that next step in their musical journey.

For singing exams, I work with the ABRSM, as its structure and syllabus provide an excellent fit for both my teaching approach and my students’ development.

Taking exams can be a valuable progression opportunity, supporting students in refining their technique, building confidence, and developing consistency and discipline in their practice. For those considering further education, it is also worth noting that higher-grade exams can contribute to UCAS points, supporting applications to higher education institutions.

If you are a parent, carer, or student and would like more information about examinations and whether they may be suitable, please feel free to get in touch.
